New Single Drops Thursday, March 21st

I am excited to announce that the first single from my upcoming album “Dug” will be available this Thursday, March 21st (my birthday). It will be available exclusively on my Bandcamp page:

The song is titled “Domain” and discusses my yearning to live a spiritual and productive life connecting with God and Nature (redundant) — using my knowledge and intuition to be a steward for the planet and to advance my own consciousness. This idealistic lifestyle is, of course, often interrupted and challenged by the State through over-regulation, manipulation of the economy, censorship, violation of rights, etc. And, as this State exponentially expands and its tentacles reach deeper and deeper into our personal lives, it becomes harder and harder to avoid. This elicits a powerful opposition from me. The song features guitarist Jason Hermann, bassist Tim Esterly, and drummer Josh Orlando. Tim and Josh have played on most of the music I have recorded in recent years. Here are the lyrics:

How am i who i be

With no place to call my own my property

Dig a hand into my land, make it stand

Carve out a piece for the birds and the beasts. A sanctuary.

A subtle boundary defines the bit of finery

Between my lines, my point of pride

The stuff surrounding me is found in me

Deep in my feet in the air that I breathe. Gratefully.

Yeah, the state they’re trying to lean into my space

But, I say get the fuck out of my face.

Leave me to live for today. Go away

Leave no doubt about the fields that feed us

Venerate the seeds that green us

Lay it down, sky and ground, let the Lord work it out

Raining down, rising up, thy will be done

By human action and God’s reaction

Yeah, the bank be betting on my fail to pay

But, I say get the fuck out of my face, leave me to be for

Today I lay the grain that shapes a future’s fate

Playing my part of the plan

Man as a steward again
